Introduction

The Connecting Style Survey you are about to complete will help you understand and appreciate different personal styles, how people from other styles are likely to perceive you, and the best approach to engaging people across all styles, even under stress. Of course, this all starts with becoming aware of your own style.

The entire survey takes just a few minutes to complete and requires three simple steps:

  1. Follow the survey instructions to complete the 14-item survey.
  2. After you have completed the survey your profile will be ready to view on your screen.
  3. Follow the simple instructions to print your results!

    The survey consists of the fourteen items on the left side of the page, each consisting of a pair of behavioral descriptions. For each pair you will be asked to choose the one that best describes your style across work and social situations. In some cases it may be very difficult to decide which of two qualities describes you best, since they may both seem to describe you equally well. The survey requires you to choose one statement from every pair so, if you do get stuck, choose the behavioral description that feels most natural, automatic, effortless, and comfortable across all situations. The survey allows you to go back and change a response if you wish.

    Remember, you must choose one item from each pair in order to advance to the next item.

    You may begin at any time. This is not a timed test. But you must complete all fourteen items to get a style score and the report.

    Once you are done print the report and bring it with you to the workshop. To maximize the impact of the workshop, the printout of results provides very limited information. We encourage you not to try to make sense of it. It will all be explained in detail during the workshop.
